OUR MISSION

We help people learn about and experience the Camino de Santiago

We help people learn about and
experience the Camino de Santiago

The Camino Charity is a 501(C)(3) mental health non-profit organization registered in the United States but working in northern Spain. Our mission is simple – to help those most in need experience the healing powers of the Camino de Santiago hike, the network of pilgrimage routes leading to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northern Spain.

Since the Middle Ages, a walk along the Camino has brought restorative calmness and increased mental clarity to pilgrims suffering in their daily lives. Through guided, supportive treks, we leverage this healing legacy to improve mental health – particularly for veterans recovering from war and women’s groups moving forward from trauma – and to teach our young people compassion and empathy for those around them.

As the experts on the philosophies and restorative benefits of walking the full Camino de Santiago in Spain, we also aim to share our knowledge with anyone interested in hiking all or part of the Camino de Santiago.
